Saving your Dollars

SAVED $80.00 at Harris Teeter

SPENT $50.00 SAVED $80.00

This week is SUPER DOUBLES and you know how much I love Super Doubles and apparently so do a lot of other people.  The shelves were bare tonight when I ventured in at 11:30!  I did manage to finally get two boxes of the always absent Cinnamon Burst Cheerios thanks to a wonderful Teeter stocker.  It's kinda fun to go grocery shopping at night and especially when they are restocking to make sure you get your deal.

A few of the Super Harris Teeter Deals:

Presented 24 coupons - all doubled (I actually was having so much fun finding deals that I exceeded their 20 coupons limit but Harris Teeter worked it out with me - another reason why I love my Teeter - good staff).

On Sale plus used Coupons:  Purina Cat Chow - .78, Kraft Cheese Squares - .50, Welch's Grape Juice - $1.00, Pepperidge Farm Bread - $.79, Bertilli Olive Oil Spray - $1.00, Pillsbury Natural Cookie Dough - $1.00, Simply Orange Raspberry Lemonade - $50, Horizon Half and Half - .19.

FREE - Party Mix Cat Treats, Edward Sundae Frozen Pie, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Bumble Bee Tuna, Blue Dog Biscuits, Guacamole, Yogurt Raisins .

This week I used coupons ranging from .50 - 1.50.  Harris Teeter will double up to 1.98 so a 150 coupon really gives you 3.00 off.  WOW.

I'm proud of two friends that have commented to me that they have started to coupon more after reading my blog --- CONGRATS Randy and Trisha!  I love hearing about your grocery deals - leave a comment!

SUPERMARKET SHOCK OF THE WEEK

There is a new brand of Cheerios on the market.  Cinnamon Burst has been stripped from the shelves.
Apparently there is little regard for good old plain Cheerios.  You now have to flavor it with something in order to keep consumers interested.  Did you know there are ELEVEN different flavors of Cheerios and Honey Nut seems to be the most popular (it typically is absent from shelves when there is a good sale).
I guess it worked on me because I left with 2 boxes in hand for Anthony to try!  My favorite Cheerios knock-off and Anthony's is called Mom's Best Naturals and it is in the natural foods section in some groceries and is better for you.  When I have a coupon, that's the brand we buy!

  1. Rebecca, it is true. I am a convert to using coupons during the Harris Teeter Super doubles. I saved $30 and spent $40, and received three items free. It was a rush!

  2. Oh, Rebecca, you're a woman after my own heart. My husband enjoyed getting texts from me saying things like "Bought 2 bottles vitamins, bag of oranges, block of cheese - FREE - made $5."

(Those are times when the total is actually completely free, due to a combination of store coupons, manufacturer coupons, and then I even get a"Catalina" coupon for $5 off your next purchase for anything n the store."

He tells the guys at work and they didn't really believe them at first. Now, he tels them one of two great deals per week and they go out and get them themselves!

Congrats on your fantastic shopping trip!
